This was my old setup....

Pc on the left, Mac on the right:

Then, I found a better use for the PC rather than sitting unused, sold it including the one monitor and bought this:

A 24" Widescreen Acer Monitor, 5MS Response and 3000:1 Contrast Ratio. All I can say is it looks fabulous. Looks much larger on my desk then it did in the shops, but wow....it's cool! :-)

PS: The second IBM Thinkvision monitor is for sale. No dead pixels, R1200

How much was it and from where...

But you already answered that elsewhere so no worries :)

Nice screen that. You not finding it even a bit too big? I looked at the 24" monitors in the shops and they seemed so big that I'd have to sit quite far back from my desk to make full use of them?

22" on the other hand, at a grand cheaper, seemed much more manageable.

I know its worth about R3900.. give or take..

But i wants to know where he gots it from...

I do find the screen quite big. I used to have the dual monitor setup with just my PC, so I like having the space on screen to put two windows next to each other. I was looking at 22", but thought that the 24" was just that little bit nicer and splurged!

I bought it from *gasp* incredible connection! I paid R3999.00. Did a quick google, and it wasn't MUCH cheaper at other places, I had a R1000 gift voucher for IC and put the difference on my credit card. Got a 3 year warranty if I recall correctly.

The screen is much bigger on my desk than it was in the shops. BUT it's just really cool to have so much landscape to use! It's awesome!

I am playing between 1920x1200 and 1600x1200 resolution. Being widescreen, I think the 1600x1200 is better. When looking at photo's, the pics fill the screen in the 1600x1200, so it looks like the one to go for. Any recommendations here?

That is not a bad deal there. :)

Thats what we was looking for :D

R3999 ain't too bad at all... esp for a 24"...considering a year ago roughly, thats what i paid for me 22....

broken1 : what is the native res of the monitor? cos that is always the best res to use it in... no stretching of pixels etc etc...
