Ok, I have an old PC lying around that I want to sell. What do you guys think I can get for it?

Intel Celeron 900MHZ
256MB SDRAM
4GB Hard-Disc
52x CD-Rom Drive
Lucent Win-Modem
Network Card
Geforce 64MB 440MX (PCI)

A 15 inch CRT Monitor (Mecer)

Any ideas?

Couple hundred if you're lucky. But If it were mine, I'd probably add in a few large hard drives and turn it into a file server or something.

I'd do what HGP suggested, but selling it will net you are most R400 i reckon.

Its just lying around in the cup-board collecting dust. I plan to eventually to get a newer PC and use that as a file server! This thing I'll never use again

A few hundred bucks at very best.

As they said, rather keep it and use it as firewall/server or something.

If you really don't want to use it that badly, then maybe donate it to somebody who needs it. Perhaps a school, old age home etc. And then show the pensioners how to find granny porn on the net. Whatever you get for it will probably only cover a round of drinks anyway :D

If the hard drive was bigger than 4gigs, u could run XP and Office on it.
Also use Internet and email.
So pretty much what most people use a pc for.

What area u in?

In Somerset West, I just phoned up a friend (who needs a PC); told him I would give it to him

Mmmm, amazing to hear of such a machine! That works! That is incredible man! How on earth did you manage to keep it alive in what, 13 - 16 years? Well done neway..

...do you remember the old 386/486 processors (386DX and 486DX2-66) - I still have 2 in the garage with those "very high" specs - 2/4MB RAM (2/4x 1MB modules), 1/2MB graphics and 60/120MB HDD, 360k/1.2mb (5 1/4") floppy drive (with the floppy discs like Leisure Suit Larry, Johnny Castaway screensaver)...

...and they still work perfectly...with DOS 5.0 - or Windows 3.0 at a push... :p
