Buy S-Hand Screen Card for R350?

It is GeForce 6600 GT PCI-E 128MB DDR3

1) is it worth buying a second hand one
2) It is a good price right?
3) What else could i get for R350?

The card is probably worth about R500 2nd hand
 
i sold my 8500gt for R300 last week lol, should have read this article then, but yar sounds like a lekker card at a good price i guess.

A 8500gt is basically a 6600gt with DX10 so it doesn't make sense choosing a 6600gt over the 8500gt.

A while back i bought a 6600gt for R230 and sold it for R300. I also sold a 6800gs for R400. So R350 for a 6600gt is an ok price. Although i wouldn't pay more than R300 for a 6600gt now. It's pretty old technology. About 4 years old.
 
yes it is old, but.. i was building a PC for a client the other day & decided to test the 8500Gt. It lagged on NFS underground :0 on a decent machine E2180, 2gb etc etc.
 
Well when the 8500gt was released it retailed for around R900. When the 6600gt was released back in the day it cost over R2000. So at least there is some progress price wise. But it's a little unreasonable to expect a lower end card to perform higher than 1024x768 with AA and AF. Afterall you get what you pay for.
 
I must say that my 6600GT has served me well. I think it is a good card for what you pay.

I remember playing Kane and Lynch on that card in my spare machine - mind you it was one low settings - but playable none the less.

If this is going to be your temporary card until you save up enough to get a 8800gt or a 9600gt - go for it.
 
I still have a 6600GT. I have finished Crysis with it. Got a FPS speed of between 20-30 throughout the game. All at lowest settings of course. I did turn up the physics one notch though so that I could see the buildings/shacks being demolished.

3200 AMD
1GB RAM
