Anyone know anyone in telkom who can answer me this?

I am desperate to know when I will be able to get Wimax in my area. I have applied for ADSL in May 2007 and have gotten the standard reply every month when phoning: "Your exchange is not ADSL ready and will not be in the nearby future."

Every time I ask about Wimax I get the standard reply: "There are no working towers in your area"

Does anyone know anyone in Telkom that can give me some hope as to when a tower will be available? I live in a town called Harburg between Pietermaritzburg and Greytown.

A town 22km away has ADSL, might as well be on the other side of the world.

Every time I see an advert for broadband shoved in my face on TV/post spam I get angrier and more depressed about the whole situation.

Why not go for something like iBurst in the mean time?

Iburst has no footprint here. Any other wireless companies I have approached do not have footprint here. The best cell coverage I can get is 2 bar GPRS.

There is a local guy who has set up his own wireless franchise but it costs R4000 for the installation, and I dont have that kind of cash lying around plus R400 a month for a 256k connection.
