Well, that lens is the sharpest I have ever seen. I think mine was a fluke. It's sharp at the edges when the lens is wide open at F/2.0. There are no aberrations anywhere, ever. No distortion. Always razor sharp. And it's solid. They don't make them like that anymore for that price. It makes total mincemeat of the Canon 50mm F/1.4 and is on par with their L version. A truly remarkable lens.
I do think that I should get another body though.
And more lenses. 50mm - That's so limiting!

eBay is your friend - there are loads of Pentax-M lenses available for very cheap. I got a Pentax-M 28mm f/2.8 for £22. It works pretty damn nice on the K100D Super. Took me a while to figure out how to use it tho, but it works well.

I would rather buy in my own town. That way I can check if the lens has any fungus.

That's a good point. Can fungus be cleaned out though?
Probably though disassembly. Somehow I've got what looks like an ant's leg inside my 50mm - doesnt make a bit of difference to the photographs but just knowing it is there is infuriatingly
maddening.

LOL - I have several unidentified bits tumbling about in my 28mm (a bit like a mini washing machine!) but it doesn't seem to make much of a difference either.
On my old K1000 I actually had a visible chip in the lens. It was a 50mm. Came with the camera like that, I thought what the heck, the camera was cheap enough, I'll just get another lens. But it didn't seem to make any difference either.
