Who is to blame?

Interesting to note the blame game:

Government blames consumers for using too much electricity.

Consumers blame Eskom for not building enough capacity soon enough.

Eskom blames Government for not allowing it to build sufficient new capacity in good time.

I doubt if it is consumers who are using to much electricity, but they are the ones being caned by all.

Not fair I would say.
 
Next thing is water quota...that'll push the already increasing emigration numbers up.

Heh - despite my obvious Anti-SA stance and my doing everything reasonable to oppose the fools in charge, I do not waste resources.
I already maintain the "if its yellow let it mellow, if its brown flush it down" philosophy. I try and water the garden conservatively, and I shower 99/100 times.

But yeah, it will not be long before we have a water crisis for "wasting", and we are told to "use less water or be cut off" - which will mean I, again, will be penalised for being saving-conscious all these years...

Not sure about actual statistics, but personally know more then 6 families that are leaving in the next 6 months. 3 of them already packed up and with jobs etc. on the other side.

The fact that the sewage works are falling to bits (Carte Blanche had a report, and the sewage on Durban's beaches is another example) is one sign.
The number of burst water pipes in my area (look for my posts on this in this forum), is another.
Dams that require critical care (Carte Blanche again), are yet another pointer that this is coming.

And, add to ALL that, global changes and lower rainfall in many parts of the country, and we have water rationing on the horizon.


Floating poo in our rivers and on our beaches is not something people are Q'ing up to experience, either.
