Okay we've all done our moaning and groaning about Telkoms adsl service, but we need to take it one step further, they dont care about you yelling on this forum, nothing will happen about it.

We can't sit back and watch Telkom destroy SA's internet future, the USA will have 10mb at affordable prices by the time Telkom or a new operator gets their act together. I'm still young and I want to enjoy my time in South Africa, and have time to enjoy it before having to go out and work, I will probably nove to the UK or the USA when I hit a later age (*thinks about t3 [:D]*) or I might stay here, but for now lets get this moving. I'm tired of Telkom's disgusting service, it could be years before another operator comes...

So I ask you, where to from here?

Hi Nemesis

The forum has grown at an unexpected pace, and you are right to say that we have enough information to start some form of action. My first move is to contact Telkom, SATRA and the ministry with a short summary of user’s experience of the service and what we expect. I will give them a certain time to respond with possible solutions or ways that we can work towards it. I am not convinced that I will receive a timely and positive response from them, but this is the logical first step.

Next we should inform the media about the situation with some factual and empirical backing. This can happen at the end of August when we have a fair amount of members and enough postings to validate good publicity. We can discuss further action after we have followed these routes.

If any of you disagree with this action please let us know. We will be glad to alter our tactics if somebody has an improved action plan.

Thanks for all the action from you guys. Makes our job easier and more justifies.

Regards,

RPM
