View Full Version : Ohter places to complain
To be heard we will probably need to shout, scream and inform everybody that's willing to listen. We have to make ourselves heard. Below are some forums where you can if you feel the need, 'complain'.
A consumer forum especially there for abused consumers!

I visit here often. Cool site and excellent place to spend your time complaining about ADSL in the event where you could not surf your fav international site because it's too slow.

Hi Plug
Thx for the hint about other forums.
On the other hand, we should also possibly consider to give those forums' members hints about this site. It is difficult to find ADSL users as such, but they may be concentrated in those consumer forums.
With more participants here, we can make a difference. Believe me, Telkom already knows about us, and the mere existence of this forum caused a huge stir in telkom management...
Cheers

Yes Beyers, I agree 100% with you. Maybe put something in your signature on the other forums like: 'I support the improvement of ADSL in SA' with a link to myadsl.co.za or something to that effect.
Would this be ok RPM ? :)

Yes, that may be a nice and discrete way to do it. I'm sure RPM will more than comply with this, but let him speak for himself...
Hi Plug
It will be great.
One of my biggest headaches has been to try to get to ADSL users. I have asked ISP’s to inform their users of the site, but don’t think they will comply. We are high on Ananzi with ‘ADSL’ and ‘ADSL Telkom’ keywords, but this is not enough. We need to get to all users. It is clear that this service is becoming a big mess, and that Telkom have no plan to improve this. They either need to give us refunds or improve, simple! I don’t think they want to do either.
Regards,
RPM

Hey,
I have offered to put your addy on my co.za website in another post.
Just give me the word and it's done.
I am doing lots of Business ADSL installations and all the help we can get the better.
I make very little on the actual installation itself, most of it goes monthly to Telkom, about R1200 per month into their coffers. I'm lucky if I make 10% of this once off and not monthly. The more clients I put onto ADSL, the more Telkom makes. It's time that those of us who offer ADSL as an alternative to ISDN/56k for the SOHO/SME customers are represented in Telkom. There is a huge opportunity for growth for the Smaller Business man here, yet we get nothing in return. No commision, and certainly no improvement in service from them.
Dont get me wrong, im not trying to punt here, but if I have sold 100 ADSL's on Telkom's behalf, I have clout and I should be represented.
Also my experiences could assist them in improving their service levels, turnaround times etc.
Hi Tenderiser
A link will be wonderful, and it is a great benefit to have a guy like you on the forum. Your experience will indeed be of value to them, and to us.

You can maybe put a post on the www.unreal.co.za forum. Loads of adsl users hanging around there.

Hi guys,
The link was done within a few days of this thread going out.
I have watched the whole ADSL debacle (caps, shapes, downgrades etc) for a long time. To say the least, ADSL in RSA is getting slower, and more expensive.
If you only use it for email and surfing, fine. But for more power users, which Telkom appears to be marginalising, it is getting worse.
Gamers, specialised applications users and the like are having a tought time, especially with the downgrade of the DSLAMS this past week and the prioritistaion of the ports on the shaped accounts...
WTH do we have to do to get the Consumer Commission off its fat arse and look into the this....ICASA hasnt had any teeth to speak of...
