Loaded some airtime again on my Virgin sim. My new balance is R35 but I still can't make calls or sms - keep getting "your date has expired" or something. So I called the 123 number. First they wanted my ID number and then my address. I asked if it was necessary but the call centre person just said again:"Your address, please!" So I ended the call, not in the mood for all this.

I can understand security questions on contract but on prepaid?

It took them more than a week to come back with the "solution" to my problem - airtime windows are not extended if you buy airtime from an ATM or over the internet. You must actually buy a recharge voucher. They now say I must buy MORE airtime in the form of a recharge voucher to be able to make use of the R35 airtime I already bought.

I don't know how these guys intend to improve their market share with service like this...
