A good article about what Telkom thought about the service prior to release >>> http://www.itweb.co.za/sections/telecoms/2002/0208281224.asp

<blockquote id="quote"><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" id="quote">quote:<hr height="1" noshade id="quote">“We see a market for up to 250 000 to 300 000 services in theory,” says White.<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></blockquote id="quote"></font id="quote">

<font color="red">Bwhahahahhahaha</font id="red">

<blockquote id="quote"><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" id="quote">quote:<hr height="1" noshade id="quote">Even if niche products are launched, ADSL is not for everyone. For the time being, Telkom expects “discerning Internet and remote users” to opt for ADSL. It has predicted a certain cannibalisation of both ISDN and Diginet services as users move over, but says that is according to plan<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></blockquote id="quote"></font id="quote">

<font color="red">The only ISDN users that moved over where CONNED! ISDN &gt; ADSL.
(shows you how telkom managed to do the impossible, make ISDN a better service than ADSL! )
/me = happy 128k ISDN user, i wouldnt touch ADSL with a long stick.</font id="red">

<blockquote id="quote"><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" id="quote">quote:<hr height="1" noshade id="quote">Those who do get a line face a maximum data limit of 3GB, but Telkom says it will take no immediate action against customers who download more data. If “rogue users” turn out to be a problem, as they have elsewhere in the world, threshold billing will be introduced, it says.<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></blockquote id="quote"></font id="quote">

<font color="red">hmmm no mention of CAP'ing just "theshold billing, now that is false advertising. Their so-called roque users are 80% of the people who have ADSL, its called the average NET user.</font id="red">

-raise the CAP
-remove local traffic from the 3gig monitoring.
-remove pathetic port priority's
-transparent contention

and... just maybe i'd be tempted to use ADSL ... cos in my eyes,
South Africa still does not have BROADBAND, cos telkoms offering is
certainly NOT "Broadband" multimedia internet.
