Right well the loadshedding schedule for my city has just been published...
My suburb will be loadshedded every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 18:30 - 21:30
Every. Second. Evening.
Why don't Eskom just come out and say "Hey, all of you in these suburbs, we'd like you to emigrate, please?". I honestly cannot believe this. I am going to be without power every second evening until JULY? How am I, or any other family for that matter, going to function? How am I going to get any work done? I need to study, which is kinda hard to do when it requires one's PC and, well... some LIGHT.
I am living in a country that want to charge me 50% more for electricity every month to pay for THEIR SCREW UP, only to sit in the DARK every second evening? I will not be able to afford a generator because of the increase in electricity costs. How ironic is that? I can't afford a generator to give me electricity because I am paying too much for my... electricity.
For me, this is the final nail in the coffin of what was once a great country. I will be leaving at the end of this year and there is pretty much nothing that will ever get me to come back.
How difficult would it be to rotate the loadshedding times? So yes, we are without power from 18:30-21:30 the one week, then the next week we have no power from 8:30 - 11:30, whilst someone else is out from 18:30 to 21:30, and then the next week we have it from 11:30 - 14:30, and so on. Sure it would be annoying having one's power go out at a different time depending on the week, but nowhere near as annoying as not having power every second evening... until at least July.
What this country has degenerated into disgusts me, and I am actually embarrassed to have been born on its soil.
**** you, ANC.
