One thing I'd like to add about that poll actually, its been running for few months already, so I wouldn't really say its an accurate snapshot of all the users currently, but I would say that it probably does give you an overall idea of the number of gamers using ADSL.

I can personally vouch for many users having actually upgraded their old ISDN lines, and gone for ADSL instead. I am actually one such gamer there that should be getting ADSL installed tomorrow. Can't wait.. (yes, I'm excited... see, I don't really do much downloading, apart from game patches, etc, and thats all publically available off the SGS FTP site).

That 32% adsl users out of 2900 votes is almost 1000 users, i.e. 10% of telkoms total 10000 users...

Really significant. Telkom has an opportunity to have a very good product, and loyal customers, if they just give what they originally promised.

guys u r missing the point here...

Gaming on saix.. isnt effected.. honestly..
U get no lag or v.little playing on saix and mweb... and if u do.. its at like 4pm.. and u would get that with a 56k 2.. its just traffic..

The problem here is the international gaming.. read my post abt gaming hours.. and u'll understand
as u can c.. im abt 2 go play my 1st game 2nite (0:32am)

ye after a few days or so the info or cookie expires and u vote again well some do, also cause adsl users is always online they tend to get bored and vote 2 many times.

I need international bandwidth, cause I play on mmog servers. Things like, Second Life, Anarchy Online, Acheron's Call.

By the way, any such game servers in SA, except for Ultima Online?

Also, this port prioritising should be dropped, or at least at night when SA businesses don’t need the bandwidth, cause I don’t use things like Kazaa, but my games do have auto patch systems that prolly run on some of these special ports. (Excuse if I’m wrong bout the port prioritising).
