I've read a .pdf and have found my area (North Riding) to be in Block 2. Great.
Now I go to the loadshedding matrix:
You have weeks 14-27; how am I suppose to know the dates of the weeks?
Fine. Look at the matrix. They are now divided into 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B, 3A, etc.

So am I in 2A or 2B? What is the current week number for load shedding?:confused:
FFS! Are these schedules meant to be understandable or not? Are they done to allow City Power to loadshed at any time amidst the confusion?
i dont even think they stick to the schedule, so not point trying to read it.

From what I understand-
Whatever your loadshedding last week - this pattern will continue for the next 5 weeks or so. ie i had loadshedding 6-10 on thurs last week, therefore loadshedding 6-10 every thurs for the next few weeks.

That's the idea, but they don't stick to the schedules so you can never be sure.

I had a similiar understanding. According to the schedule, Sandton is supposed to be shed every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from 10h00 to 14h00.
This did happen on Tuesday and Thursday last week, however no shedding today???

The easiest way to find out wether you are 2A or 2B is to look at this page http://www.citypower.co.za/Load%20Shedding%20Matrix2.htm and tie it up to when you were shed last week

Yeah, thanks. Now that I have those dates I can work out which block I'm in. I was looking at joburg.org.za - they have no information about the weeks or blocks A and B.

Okay!
I'm in block 2B (or is that not 2B, that is the question).

Here is a monstrous idea. No one steal it.
Let me type in my damned JHB Account number (the one for rates and taxes) and then get a print out of the times. Would that be so bleeding difficult?
Presumably.

My power is managed through a 3rd party company, so I have no account number eventhough I am using City Power! So not for everyone :p But I doubt the brains trust at Joburg City would ever come near that idea. Good idea none the less.
But now that I have figured out the damn schedule at least City Power is sticking to their schedule. Unlike some electricity utility I know of :o
