Seven years on, Cell C makes an operating profit

*applauds*

Now if they will take the chance and opportunity to improve their network, and provide great, cheaper services for the SA citizens, then they'll have a great, secure future.

this is nice to see although my experience still tells me they would struggle to organise a p1ssup in a brewery

The main fillip to its figures came from a 44% rise in the number of customers to give it 4,8-million, after it launched two cut-price packages to woo more young and talkative customers.

Ok... can everyone one, Telkom included take note please!!

Way to go CellC !!!!!

I can vouch for the cheaper call rates since I've been able to make more calls on the same package. Also, I use my contract extensively for browsing, sms'es and calls, yet my account comes to around R400 every month, and that is inclusive of the R108 subscription charge.

Telkom and Cell C would then work closely together to offer combined fixed and mobile services.

I don't want this to happen. Cell C are way behind in terms of data. It would just make the Telkom data network worse than it is at the moment...

Wake me when they make a net profit.

At that rate they'll provide their shareholders with a proper return on investment sometime around 2050.
