Hi,
I have just experienced an issue at a client where we have deployed over 1200 Vodacom 3G cards for mobility, and from last week +- Thursday we have been experiencing problems with all users using version 7.x of the Vodafone mobile connect software, where they could not longer to connect to VPN.
The VPN appliance can cater for both nat'd and direct IP VPN access, and the only way to resolve the problem was to either create a new connection profile (3G or 3G preferred) or alternatively alter the APN from "internet" to "internetvpn" or vice versa. This is typically done at random intervals when problems are experienced on a average basis, but to have around 580 users experiencing a problem at almost the same time is typically abnormal.
Only thing that I have noticed which has changed is the IP address allocated was 10.x.x.x (which naturally needed to be nat'd at Vodacom), and is now 41.x.x.x which according to AFRINIC is registered to Vodacom ISP, and are directly usable across the internet most likely. CLients on version 9.x have not experienced this problem, no software rollouts have been done to the client PC's at all, and even on my Laptop, I had to create a new profile to get access to VPN.
Any body else experienced the same problem??
Thanks
David
