This news made my day...Boris Johnson winning the London Mayoral election would be the icing on the cake :). It seems the British have finally woken up that the Labour party are a bunch of idiots.

With just over half of results from yesterday’s local elections announced, David Cameron’s Conservatives are on course for a significant breakthrough, winning as much as 44 per cent of the national vote.

Labour could finish with as little as 24 per cent, humiliatingly pushed into third place by the Liberal Democrats on 25 per cent.

The Tories are celebrating this morning after winning control of seven councils including Bury, a key northern target, and Southampton, a surprise southern gain.

Earlier this morning, Conservative Campaign HQ officially predicted the party is on course to beat its target of gaining 200 seats nationwide.

Labour by contrast has lost more than 90 council seats and control of two councils. Party officials say final Labour losses could reach 200 seats.

But it's a good indication of people feel about the ruling party ;). Also the last time it happened (John Major/1995), he (John Major) was out in two years later in the general election.

London mayoral results coming out this evening! :cool:
 
If the Torries win the general election and McCain the U.S election the liberals
will be out of the U.S , U.K, France, Germany........ :)

Great, so instead of voting for the labour idiots they vote for the conservative idiots. At least the Liberal Democrats are making some headway.

The Conservative candidate's win over Ken Livingstone followed a calamitous showing for Labour at the local elections - the party's worst performance at the polls for 40 years.

Mr Johnson's landmark victory, a result that would have been almost unthinkable six months ago, was the most symbolic blow to Mr Brown's authority on a day that left the Prime Minister facing the gravest crisis of his leadership.

By taking City Hall, Mr Johnson becomes the first Tory politician to hold a senior role in British politics since the party was swept out of power in 1997. His win provided a significant boost to David Cameron's bid for victory at the next general election.

The sub-prime minister had better be looking on craigslist, under "employment offered". silly numbnuts has been in charge of finances for 10 years as chancellor, and now it goes pear-shaped and he blames the banks. 10% tax rate abolished for low earners (but shhhhh that we abolished the 10% and put them on 20% when they werent looking)
labour is toast, i hereby declare it.
