Wii Fit - it’s a good workout

Also looks very interesting...A fun workout for those with too little time to go to the gym perhaps?

Pity the pricing on the Wii itself hasn't come down just yet :(

Got a Wii Fit this weekend and its brilliant - Its amazing how you don't even realise you excersizing when playing these games and when you stop you almost out of breath. There are basically 4 sections, aerobics, yoga, muscle and balance. I really cannot fault this "game".

I paid R999 for my Fit new & online it's like R1088! And then it's imported! And I paid R1999 for my Wii 2nd hand - but it was still sealed in the box at least!

What Wintendo could add to the Fit - a place to add your measurements to see if you lose cm's and not always kg's! But apart from that it's cool - excercise and fun - never thought I'd put that in the same sentence a few months ago!
 
I just found out that my incredible has stock off to get one tommorow.

You'll have to keep a chart or spreadsheet manually, but that's a good idea and a very valid point!

Most people just look at their weight, but it's the cm's that count. Whenever I've got back into exercise and working out, over the last few years (after getting out of shape), I'd be shedding cm's, but usually gaining kg's.
 
Just wait until the Wii poledancer comes out :) (Electra pole)

Then there will be some very strangely gyrating geeks :D
 
I find it interesting that core have only sold 30 000 Wii's.. okay at the current price thats 90 million in turnover, but I would have thought that their sales figures are higher than that, the way the have been advertising and hte way they have been bringing games in...?!?!?!
 
I think 30 000 Wii's is pretty good, remember Nintendo have never been great in SA, thanks to those muppets who did the distribution of the Gamecube

I paid R999 for WiiFit at Musica... (Pavillion had about 10 in stock)

Yep... considering how poorly they are marketed... the games people the games... saw a load at Musica today, the first time in ages anyone has actually had a selection on their shelves...
You can't sell a console without games...
 
I was using the Yoga part of Wii Fit last week,

I have never done Yoga in my life and I have to say it hurts like hell after you have done a proper 'work out'...

I am not convinced you will actually get fit using Wii Fit but what it does exceptionally well is to make you aware of what you need to work on...

My posture is bad since I seem to walk on my heels and ever since using the think I have started to be more aware about walking properly... Hopefully it saves my knees some pain
