They don't look into the rot until it gets exposed by the likes of Noseweek.

The ANC is gunning for Eskom’s top brass after an internal report quoting whistle-blowers in the utility accuses them of serious mismanagement.

The power utility also invested funds earmarked for power station maintenance in money-market instruments that falsely boosted the corporation’s financial results and earned them massive bonuses.

Industry analysts estimate that Eskom bosses were paid about R10-million in bonuses in March.

However, Eskom spokesman Fani Zulu said the whistle-blowers’ points were “non issues” and could be explained.
Zulu added it was worrying that colleagues from Eskom would raise their concerns externally, instead of seeking clarification from within the corporation.

Everything can be explained away and brushed neatly under the carpet. Rest assured - Eskom has always been and always will be, in capable hands. Our salaries and bonuses reflect the best quality management team that money can buy.

The ANC should sweep infront of their own door first - its hard to tell who's worse government or Eskom!
