Vatican: It's OK to believe in aliens

VATICAN CITY (AP) - The Vatican's chief astronomer says that believing in aliens does not contradict faith in God.
The Rev. Jose Gabriel Funes, the Jesuit director of the Vatican Observatory, says that the vastness of the universe means it is possible there could be other forms of life outside Earth, even intelligent ones.

In an interview published Tuesday by Vatican newspaper L'Osservatore Romano, Funes says that such a notion "doesn't contradict our faith" because aliens would still be God's creatures.

The interview was headlined "The extraterrestrial is my brother." Funes said that ruling out the existence of aliens would be like "putting limits" on God's creative freedom.

i think alot of what the bible says smacks of aliens and not some GOD like person

i mean Jesus floated on a clowd, could this not have been some sort of hover craft from a distant world :)

There's actually lots of evidence to suggest that aliens were very influential those times.
 
i would not like to be the one to have to bapthise an alien, especially if it is hostile and 10m tall :p

who do you think built the pyramids?

there is no way that a human from those days could have built them with such precision

i was watching a documentary on national geo and they basically said it was not possible that in ancient times they could have drilled some of the holes with such accuracy and precision, the speed of drill bits they used dont even exist today
 
I'm certainly intrigued by how they built the pyramids/stonehenge...but I wouldn't take it as far as proof of aliens.

Oh, I'm so glad the Vatican tells me its alright and I won't go to hell for an opinion I have no control over :rolleyes:

Not sure. I have watched documentaries in which they explained how the ancients built it, so I don't know. If you are interested in the alien phenomena - watch Secret Space - What is NASA Hiding? It will shock you.
