I've been wondering about this lately and a friend's potential divorce made me more curious.
I understand that men and women have different thought processes. I think we all accept that. My "problem" is that very few of them make even a half-arsed attempt to understand the other one's thinking. How many men/women actually put themselves into their partner's head and try and see and understand things from their perspective.
How many men actually talk to women to try and figure out what goes on in their minds. How many women do that with their men. You deal with loads of members of the opposite sex all the time. Ever thought of asking them what makes their sex tick?
You might actually be surprised by what you find out...

Constantly - problem is theres sooo much going on in a womans head, when it all comes out its just as confusing...
My GF doesnt open up easily and just getting her to talk about her issues is bloody hard. If people dont want to talk or understand their partners then theres not much you can do about it. Obviously the better two people understand each other, the stronger the relationship will be.

Fixed :D
Seriously, I hate all this "men trying to understand women" and "women trying to understand men" stuff. People trying to understand people is more what it is.

C'mon Cath... you have to admit it's much easier to understand the thinking patterns of someone who shares your gender

There was a guy a long long time ago, that actually deciphered the female thought process, he immediately went insane, and had to be put down.
My fav saying : One day, a long long time ago, there was a good woman, it was only for one day, and it was a long long time ago
hahahahahahaha just kidding, and luckily my wife does not visit this forum..phew

I don't think so. Maybe I just find it equally difficult to understand everyone :D

Here's a hint; If you want to understand someone, just shut your mouth and open your mind and listen to what they are saying until they are finished with it. Then you will understand everything that THEY have said, because they have been allowed the time to say it all.
And you will not be diminished in anyway by letting them have their say. Only you can diminish yourself, no one else.

When men have problems they like to go to their caves for a while and try to figure out a solution on their own. They dont need a women's advice. They often feel small when a woman offers her advise and she was not asked for it.
When women have problems they verbailse it and men try to help them get to the solution or even offer a solution when it wasnt asked for.
That's where a number of problems start coming in. Mis understanding and miscommunicating

Hahaha! You can "listen" as much as you want. Won't help squat! One of the following will happen:
1. They won't ever stop talking so you never get the opportunity to digest what you've heard, or
2. You'll completeley understand what she said and do what she wants you to do, only to figure out you were wrong because she changed her mind again.
The solution is simple. Accept the fact that you cannot win.

Yeah but Saffer that's my point. Men and women have very different mindsets. And the only way to figure out how the other sex thinks/reacts is by communicating with as many of them as possible. If you want to understand your partner you first need to understand the sex.

I think this is a great topic guys. Believe me you guys if men can put an extra effort in trying to understand what makes their partners tick (myself included) then this could lead to some great relationships! I suppose it all starts with COMMUNICATION.... And lots of it!

try and understand females ... thats tough ... don't think you can, can you? ... like why she will bite your head off for no reason at all ... and trust me no reason at all, thats right, how is a male suppose to understand that?
I think a male should understand that a woman can do certain things without warning and just learn how to manage these situations

If people experience loneliness a whole lot more, then I think they would have a new appreciation and patience for relationships.
