If its not too expensive that is :P seeing as I'm going for my teeth tomorrow and sunday.

Getting two on my forearms, basically the outer part (if you make a fist and hold it against your chest, the part that shows towards the PC)

One side is going to have japanese kenjii on there and the other one I'm doing arabic. I'm just wondering now WHAT it should say. I'm looking for something profound, thought provoking and/or funny. Perhaps something to honor my grandfather(s) memory in.

Any ideas would be welcome. I'm going to get it done with solid black (as black as they can go) and I might take the fading tattoo that fades after 5-10 years or something. (for those worried about the body when I'm old)

If I aim for the sky then anything I achieve inbetween is a victory. So no, not really. I like to keep busy but its not really working for obvious reasons.

And like I said in previous threads, I want to change into the person who I think I am and not what the world perceives (I'm talking about the superficial aspect of course)

Yes but I'm coming down in June for a visit.

Thats besides the point, what should I get in terms of a phrase etc re: my original post?

Well just remember if you want it blackest of black, you will have to go back for more than one sitting, depending on the size it can take up to 2 to 3 sittings before its pure black.

My wife got one on her ring finger and she wanted it pure black, well the outside was easy, the inside (inside of the finger) was a completely different matter.

Lucky for me, I prefer her designs and celtic tribals, so its thin lines, never more than a sitting or two

As with what to get, get phrases that are symbolic to your "transformation", and if you are doing this for a fashion accessory, stop right now, in ten years you will be sorry

Thanks dad ;) and thats why I figured I'd take the fading tattoos. And it won't be a fashion accessory as much as a tribute to my grandad(s) and something I want to get done in the first place.

Thanks for the info re: multiple sittings, perhaps I'll only go once and then see how it comes out, if I need touch ups to make it darker/blacker I'll go in November again when I go back to SA for a wedding

I just had an awesome idea. My real name means "Rock (solid, stable)" so maybe in Kanjii I'll get, "Even water can transform rock" or something

What do you think?

Sounds very cool. For our wedding me and the wife got the japanese symbols for "truth", "love" and "Happiness". Luckily mine was on my arm, her's was on her hand, bet you know who cried from the pain

I have a brilliant Tattoo artist for you in the Table View / Parklands area. He is really good.

Who did? You? Cause women have really high pain tolerances ;)

Would love some contact details or even an email address (would probably send him electronic copies of the tattoos I want)

I'd like them done on the 7th of June (the Saturday)

Yes of course me!!!! Nope it was her actually. She went for the first sitting, and said that each time the needle went into her hand, it felt like it hooked beneath the skin, and then rip back out (she is a lot tougher than me I tell you), thought she was giong to burst out in tears when they told her she needed to come back for a second sitting.

And this was all done with a liner, which hurts ten times more than a shader

Are all these changes a way to trick that girl you want to marry into believing she's met a new guy?

AcidRaZor
20-05-2008, 02:38 PM
Hahaha, no, actually, its to trick myself in believing I can change ;)

The more I thought to myself (and this was even before the whole marriage debacle) that I've changed but nobody can see it because they tend to pass judgement based on my past and not my current actions... I figured out that because of THEM thinking xy and z about me even though I know/feel I have changed, usually causes me to fall back into that groove of behavior.

So this is a way to prove to myself I changed (have changed) and will forever be able TO change.

This is purely for myself and have been thinking of the tattoos since 2001
