a friend of mine has a dell latitude d620. All well unitl you put the pc in standby then when you bring it out of standby the 3G takes forever to initialize. The os and drivers has been reload and the Bios has been upgraded. The firmware of the 3g has been updated - no change. The notebook has a internal 5520 minipci wwan card. The Motherboard and the minipci has been replaced twice. The minipci has been upgraded from 5505 to 5520

Vista or XP? I assume then if you reboot the card comes up much quicker? Are you using VMC or some other software? Are you closing the connection software before putting the machine to sleep?
