Cannavaro afraid of Torres

Italian captain Fabio Cannavaro admits Fernando Torres has the potential to shatter his country's Euro 2008 dream.

The Real Madrid defender believes Spain are one of the tournament's most dangerous sides, thanks largely to a striker he believes has 'exploded' in the last year.

Cannavaro said: "Fernando Torres has made an incredible improvement. Last year I saw him as a bit of a softie but then he went to the Premier League, where you can't be a softie, and he exploded."

The draw has it that Italy could face Spain – whose squad also includes Pepe Reina, Xabi Alonso and Alvaro Arbeloa – in the quarter-finals once the tournament gets underway in Austria and Switzerland in June. :D

and some people say Torres is only performing in EPL because its weaker than other leagues :rolleyes:

The guy was a average player in la liga and now his one of the greatest in the premiership...what does that tell you.He has said himself there are far more stronger teams from bottom to top in la liga.
If you actually knew torres before the epl you would know his playing exactly the same as when he was in la liga.
