Telkom has reached agreement with Fifa to enter the World Cup 2006 pending a minor change to the rules of soccer.
Basically Telkom has asked for one amendment to the Fifa charter.
Clause 1.7.1.3.56a to be amended as follows:
<font color="blue">"Any team playing Telkom will concede a free kick if any player from that team touches the ball with the lower half of the body".</font id="blue">
Fifa is studying this Telkom offer which has been vigourously supported by the South African government and many government agencies.
Telkom officials are confident that they will produce the results if Fifa accepts their proposals.
Telkom argues that it currently operates under these rules and can see no reason why Fifa will not accept its proposal.
