I just found their site today and saw that they supply laptop parts, batteries, notebook mb's, monitors etc

Hows the pricing and service?

www.spl.co.za

If you know of any other companies that supply replacement part for notebooks please let me know.

Can't complain about service
Pricing is a bit high... I remember they wanted 3k for a mobile 160GB sata hdd(bought it elsewhere) but I don't really know anywhere else to get laptop parts.

+1 If anyone knows any place better

I've used them before as well... Was for a charger that noone else stocked. Wasn't cheap, but they seem to have components that others do not.

For HP, there's obviously LetMeRepair, housed in the same building as where ICSS used to be, but don't even bother with them unless your item is under warranty, their prices on labour and parts is rediculous!

Could always try communica, they might have a few bits and pieces, but don't hold your breath :p

Most of the suppliers of notebooks stock the chargers, batteries, motherboards and LCD Displays. So it depends on the brand of the notebook.

For lower end notebooks I wouldn't even bother, seeing as the components are much more expensive than the whole. An LCD display for example on a R6k notebook would cost in the region of R4.5k

So I used these guys to source a laptop battery on 13 September 2022.
They sent me an invoice for the part which I duly paid by EFT on the same day.
I collected the part on 26 September and my client fitted the battery into her laptop and then noticed that it wasn't the correct battery.
I contacted SPL and let them know that the battery was incorrect. See image below.

But since that time they have broken off contact and will not respond to my emails.
Not getting any joy from these crooks. Do not recommend this company to anybody.
