Id give it 6 months first, just because Sentech put up a mast in your area doesnt nesecery mean youll get the right coverage you need.
Think of it a bit like a cell phone,in your bedroom you get a better signal than your lounge, now you want the pc in lounge and not in the bedroom but its a weak signal, you phone sentech and moan about and it still doesnt work (were sorry,we cant gaurentee that you have coverage in your lounge). So what im trying to say here is that theres no gaurentee that its going to work where your PC stands.
Theres a whole lot of things to take into consideration here, rock formation in your area(bounces signals),height of masts(is it going to pass right over your head)Sentech response(sorry have you tried additional antennas?)The Sentech mast will push out alot more signal strength than you will be able to send,so will you be able to transmit? although you can receive? All this could happen in an area that is covered(which technicaly it is)but it might not work for you.All this still to be tested and the meanwhile youve signed a 24 month contract.Yeah I think Ill wait a bit[:p]

lol, its 3g. Which means it will go through walls. If the antena is really close there shouldn't be any problems.

But I agree with you to wait and see how they do after a couple of months. Before signing a contract

Yeh, lets all wait and see how it is before buying it. Wait a second...if everyone is going to wait, who's going to test it then!? Noooooooooooooooooo...

I noticed you use the word IF.
My point exacly

I also belive the dish instalation on top of the Brixton tower was done incorrectly aswell, which has to be redone.

Wait, let me guess, when sliced bread was released, you probably had some negative comment on how it won't last and that no one in their right mind would pay 2 rand extra for a bread to be sliced already...

i wonder

What I said was rather wait a bit until its tested(or cant you read).
Theres still a few things to be sorted out,I didnt say it was a bad productYou must remember that in a few days its going to be released and its not ready. You also seem to forget about the 24 month contract. But I guess thats your decision, let me know how its working and if its running 100% then Ill sign on the dotted line[:D]

Thats nice, good luck with your life in the stone age.

I can read, and I know exactly what you're saying, but the only reason why I don't have ADSL is, up to last year, I couldn't afford it, and now that I can (and cancelled my installation order) I'd rather opt for a roaming wireless connection, doesn't matter how many teething problems they will have, if I can connect, sweet, if I can't, I haven't had internet at home in the last 6 years, and barely have at my current job, so either way...

stone age, hehe

I fully agree with sk33t on this, especially since the whole beta test is being kept under raps with no information coming out, i thought the whole point of this test was so we could see the performance before it goes retail.

That's never the point of a test. The point is to make sure the roll-out is fluid and the product is viable and effective. You think Telkom released testing results before retailing their ADSL product?

Judging by some of the tests and feedback this system is amazing us, it goes through walls, hills, around corners, hell the cell is no-where in site yet it still grinds away.

Nuff said [:D]

Thats good to hear and I also think its the only sort of feedback weve had here.
Thanks for the update,Im sure more would be appreceated by more of us.
Thanks Pro [:)]

nice to see that you are back ProAsm. There has been lots of debate between people who "think" they know whats going on at Sentech.

Your input here is very appreceated.

Not sure why there needs to be ongoing repetition, all of these things have been discussed in other threads (The fact that it is not LOS etc). Alot of this is even common sense.

I think in a month or 2 you gonna see a very different forum here.
And no matter how hard one tries or how much effort one puts into supplying a good service, there will always be people that think your service sucks and they will sure let us all know about it.
