RPM, if u read this plz msg me via yahoo. My email is in details.

To all of you who are sut for Telkom I have a plan that might just work. No it does not involve alternate service but brute force! :-)

We are going to fine them. REALLY! Telkoms gets money from this ADSL service and their ISP service. If they charge what they are charging for delivery of that service "ADSL" it may b possible to claim back 4 any non-delivery or overcharging of service not provided. U follow my drift :-).

Hence lets say it costs R1000/mnth 4 this service. That is about R33 a day, R1.37/hr for the month.

If anyone of us calim that back for any non-delivery/breach off contract for the day service is not delivered.......IMAGINE 1000 myadsl unhappy chappies X R33 = R33000.

Now thats a chunk of their earnings alright.

Tell me what ya guys think. After all they have reimbursed me b4 4 non delvery of telephone service. :-)

Hi

I for one think that it is not a very effective idea. Telkom will just deny you service until you pay. They write it up on their little "extra notes" box next to your client information database entry. Before you know it you are in digital hell! I think the best way would be to do the complaining through this forum with collective muscle.

The only way your idea will work is if we all deny payment at once if only one of our members suffer. A kind of UNION style tactic. That is also pretty hardline and will most likely not hit the spot with the rest of the people on this forum.

Thus we must (I repeat MUST) constantly engage Telkom (through this forum for instance!!!) with creative and workable ideas that benefit both us (the customers) and Telkom.

Thus we aim for a Win Win situation.

Cheers
Ant

I am not quite sure you are going about this thing the right way. There is no point trying to complain to Telkom or to not pay them it will do nothing, all because there is no alternative. So what you don't pay ur phone bill and they cut you off, now what ? you don't make any phone calls ?. The ONLY thing that is going to make telkom improve is competition NOTHING else. No amount of bitching or threatining is going to even batter an eyelid at Telkom.

The only way competition will happen is if legislation is changed and new phone companies come into play (I don't think the SNO even counts), this will mean that it wont just be an empty threat to say we won't pay coz then we wont and just go over to other phone company. The only way to hurt Telkom is through it's pockets ... but 1st we need the means .... :P

Anyway.... thats my thoughts :)
