This has just been released, I went to Take2.co.za and saw this;

Unlike Mass Effect, Take2 does not warn regarding the Online Activation on Alone in the Dark. So I'll mention it... you will need to be connected to the Internet when you start the installer as well as the end...

This is a buggy and unplayable console port anyway...

I'm concerned about the part in bold.

Can anyone else here confirm or deny or what?
I'm Googling it, but nothing is coming up.
 
*nod* You need an internet connection to activate it. I believe you also need an internet connection when you uninstall it to "free up" your serial code.

Nope, doesn't. I have it, I only have XP, works fine. Controls are an absolute pain though, but the story is pretty good and it's fun setting things alight ;) I wish they spent more time on ironing out the bumps.
 
need a gamepad for it or just terrible ?
