Hi,

One of the things making the net slow is packet losses.

Substantial packet losses is an indication of network congestion - or alternatively amateurish network operation.

Below some data I gathered with Pingplotter (www.pingplotter.com)

Please note the PacketLoss % to London.

South Africa needs World Class Broadband at World Competitive Prices.

Yeah I've noticed this too, particularly over the last 2 weeks or so. I've reverted to ISDN for international gaming... our international latency over ADSL was a dream over Dec/Jan - but went pear shaped at about the time the Mydoom worm/virus was discovered. It may be purely co-incidental, though, and part of the port shaping.

Telkom have announced that they will be releasing an "optimised" package especially for gamers (no time-frame given) - hopefully this will provide us with more consistent international ADSL latency.

try using the

tags next time :)
