Anyone at Telkom willing to read this..? BT gets 45,000 orders a week for broadband... that's 4 times the total SA DSL population in 2 years, every week.. 2 million connected already.

Yeh, and when they launched Stevie said the target was 300 000 telkom adsl subscribers by 2005.

Hey Stevie, seems like you might just have about 10 000 telkom adsl users by now - not quite up to your expectations huh ..[}:)]

I will let you into a little secret ..... If Sentech get it right maybe you will only have about 83.4% of 790 users by year end.

Somebody's gonna get fired sooon ....[:D]

This is what I don't understand about Telkom's logic. Instead of ripping off the 10 000 (or so) users you already have, why not offer an affordable product with great service, thus making sure you not only keep your customers but also bring in loads of new ones??

Personally, I would rather make a slightly smaller profit but have more happy and repeat customers.

Hi M8s

Our experts can not understand exactly what causes consequents to Telkom's unique corporate culture(thinking logic).

Every coporation in the world is trying its best to satisfy its customers by offering better price, better service.better flexibility ,better technology ,better knowledge of products..............................

But this "Tyrannosaurus" simply just bullys its prey.

Let's go "The mass migration is about to begin " from ADSL to Mywireless

The "Tyrannosaurus" is fated

Still, Sentech is a state enterprise. And the govt. have stated their case - "no affordable broadband or telephony so f-off."

No affordable telephony for the poor or previously disadvantaged (currently disadvantaged as well because of Telkom if you think about it), no affordable Internet access (R7 call - yay, thanks Mr. M. Onopoly), no cheap cellular rates (again, thanks).

My biggest concern is for the poor of this country - they NEED some form of communication, be it cellular or land-based - BOTH are expensive. On a salary of R1,000 a month can one really afford R70 line rental, 58c minimum call charge and then the ridiculous call rates that follow? Or can you buy a crappy Alcatel jobbie, with a R29 starter pack, and then pay R3,30 a minute?

If WE are complaining, imagine how they feel. [:(!]
