Daycare mum drives over babies

Shocking! What were the children doing inside the garage in the first place?

Yeah heard about it earlier. Crazy

Sick, wrong, Holy.. No words to describe this

She purposefully drove over her livelyhood, knowing full well the revengefull deadly action that might be taken by the parents/community?

"The woman decided later to move the car, but instead of reversing she accidentally engaged the wrong gear and drove forward into the garage, striking the children who were playing inside the garage."

See what happens when you allow women to drive!!! :D ... *ducks*

Seriously though, this is horrible, did she have a valid license I wonder? Surely she could've hit the brakes? Did she panic and freeze?

What kind of place is a garage for day-care anyway?

I am sorry, if you have kids in your care you make sure they are safe at all time. What were the kids doing in the garage, which is not the safest place in the beginning??? I am hope she gets whats coming I don't feel sorry for her at all. I am sure she should even have that many kids in her care unless she is registered day care place. Day mothers are only allowed a certain amount of kids in their care!!!

accidentally? how can we prove this?

I can't think of a punishment for this woman, the next hundred years of these children will be spent in pure agony.

Some may be crippled, bones may be fractured beyond repaid, etc... this is a truly horrible situation!!!

To me is sounds like a huge mistake on her behalf, This woman's life is over man and from what i read it was accident.

I feel very sorry for her because im almost 100% sure she would never have done this on purpose. Those poor kids as well.

Horrible situation.

Crèche owner back in hospital
01/08/2008 11:06 - (SA)

Pietermaritzburg - A crèche owner who accidentally drove over a group of babies, killing one, has been hospitalised, the Msunduzi Municipality said on Friday.

Spokesperson Evodia Mahlangu said the city was meant to inspect the woman's day-care centre but it was postponed "because the crèche owner was re-admitted to hospital".

She said the inspection would start once the woman was discharged from hospital.

"The crèche is presently non-operational," said Mahlangu.

On Tuesday, while trying to reverse, the woman accidentally accelerated and drove into 10 children.

Nine-month-old Sayoona Moonsamy died and the others were treated in hospital - most for minor injuries or shock.

Police later revealed that the woman did not have a driver's licence while Mahlangu confirmed that her crèche was also not registered with the municipality.

Police spokesperson Inspector Joey Jeevan at the time said: "We are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and, on completion of the investigation, the matter will be forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecution for a decision."

Any sympathy I had went out the window after reading this.

An unlicenced creche - and driving without a drivers licence.

20 years sounds a good sentence.
