Anyone know whether mywireless can be used to host your own website?

they don't want you to do that, hence the dynamic IP addresses and the 128k upload speed limit on all packages
however... it's not impossible...

I dont remember them saying anything about that.
In the FAQ they actually say they dont recommend it because of the
dynamic IP. And I think there's different reason's for the dynamic ip's. Considering not everyone is constantly online, they score on a couple of ip's rather than having to buy one for each subscriber.
But yeah, your contract doesnt prevent you from doing it, you are allowed to do a webserver. Check dynds for dynamic ip domain hosting.
And if youre cheap like me, www.za.net / www.za.org
Basicly, they dont recommend hosting, because they probably dont want to support all the people with theire dynamic ip problems. ;) something like that

Why not get proper paid hosting ?
.co.za domain R150-00 and R50 pa therafter
Hosting you can get from about R150 pa for a very limited hosting package.
It will be alot less worries than hosting it on your own.

no dude, read their AUP, it says that if you host like a website or ftp, and it pulls alot of traffic, they can shut you down (i think, not quoting, from memory)
I'd rather get professional hosting, it costs you about 200 bucks per month where i host, but you get EVERYTHING, you only pay extra if you want sql server too, but the rest is done, .net/ftp access/50 meg hosting space and impecible support, they're very flexable too and if you have a problem, can talk with them and they can sort you out with a plan of action (ANYTHING dude)
included you get 5 aliases (logins) and 25 email address PER alias (work that out kiddies)

You dont get it.
The idea is to do it as cheap as possible.
And za.net only closes you down if you commercial or illegal or something like that. Only bandwith they know of is the ...
Do they even get bandwith ?
If you look hard enough, there are soo many cool things you can get for free in life :) But yeah, I would get a .co.za it is cheap, but I'd get it from www.co.za
