Photos are always to dark on PC - whats going on?

I've noticed that just about every photo on my PC needs to be brightned up, they are all to dark. I'm talking about pics that i recieve via email, via disc, and uploading from camera.

I dont know what its like this, as my PC colour seems fine - its just all the photos are to dark.

IS there something i should do, suggestions?

run the gamma correction tool that comes with adobe photoshop or your graphics card.
Get that with my samsung monitors a lot

Ja, make sure your monitor is properly calibrated.
