Hi folks

As most of you will recall Steven White released a media report claiming that most ADSL users were happy with the service. He also opened himself up to audit: “White says the survey shows that contrary to many recent media reports, very few ADSL users are dissatisfied. “I am now open to audit.” (from http://www.itweb.co.za/sections/internet/2004/0402051159.asp?A=MNT&O=M).

I have contacted Steven and have requested relevant information about the survey, and he first told me to watch the media for the next few days for information about the survey and related information. No information was released, and I was forced to contact him again to try to gain some insight into the survey. Again he did not want to release any information, but instead he requested a meeting (lunch) with me on the 16th of March. I have tried to confirm this meeting for some time now, only to receive information today that this meeting has been cancelled after numerous phone calls to his secretary (was it ever on?). This does seem like delaying tactics, but I will continue to try to gain insight into this survey and publish any findings here. It is sad that people are allowed to make statements in the media that they clearly do not want to back up with action. I will not even comment on the ethical issues surrounding this issue…

Regards,

RPM

lol BTTB. Throw in a few beers and you'll have the whole of South Africa rock up.

Anyway, thanks for the update RPM!

Sure I can arrange beers too. They can send the whole telkom gang here. My wife loves catering. We can have a LAN party aswell. [:D]

As long as the cables don't cross any streets, otherwise the party could turn ugly. [:D]

Make it a street party on the 19th, we can celibrate the Sentech launch. [:o)]

This is so incredibly typical of Telkom's style. I still say Steven White should be dubbed the new Minister of MISinformation. You can't tell me he actually believes the junk he's saying. The amusing part is that all his lies and information manipulation is catching up with him. He has certainly shot himself in the foot.
