Hi

Anyone else experiencing problems with SAIX international. I'm finding either international sites are loading very slowly or don't load at all (Majority the latter). e.g. Can't load http://www.xbox.com/

I don't see any current notices referring to problems. It might be area specific: Pietermaritzburg / Howick. Initially had the local bandwidth problem all day yesterday but I saw the notice about the peering with Verizon. But from around 7pm SAIX international started with it's problems and has gotten worse today.

Anyone else having the same problem?

yeah, im having the same problem too..on SAIX, dsl-cache.saix.net loaded, but doesnt seem to help!

It's probably this:

Failure Type : Fault Condition
Status : In Progress
Problem Description : Link - peering link down between saix and verizon
Impact :
Time Down : 2008-08-05 14:32
Sites : Cape Town peering link down between saix and verizon
Affected : ADSL users, Dialup users, SpaceStream users, Leased Line users, WiMax users, WiFi users
Cause : Link down
ETTR : 2 Hours
Progress : technician busy attending.

yep can't browse a lot of international sites, most just time out.. Cape Town, Southern Suburbs

Maybe, but SAIX have cleared that as completed. Either the problem has returned or a similair problem has crept up.

Sites are loading, however, very intermittently as it will load, then about 10 minutes later I can't even ping the site. Something is seriously wrong here. I've tried SAIX shaped, unshaped and Verizon unshaped (this fuels the fact the above mentioned problem still exists though)

Have you tried setting your proxy to cache.saix.net:8080 for all protocols? Mine has been slow for weeks but once I did this my internet access has been skyrocketing through the web.
