nehalem out in Q4 is it not?

Yip, though there have been rumours floating around about a possible earlier release. Anyway's it is nearly Q4
 
Those arn't Nehalem, but Nehalem still has a FSB, but its integrated onto the Die of the CPU rather than into the Northbridge of the montherboard.

Like AMD has done since 2002/3ish

Ok, this I'm pretty sure of. Nehalem doesn't have FSB... Period.
 
This doesn't make much sense: They cut the price of the Q9550 to $316 while introducing the Q9650 for $316?

Is this info up at more reliable sites than a blogger?

I have just ordered a Q9550 - I hope it will be the new E0 stepping. ;)

I was planning on upgrading just in time for Rage, but I guess I will hold out till a little closer to the actual time of the event.
 
Anyone know when the new Intel (Nahelem) CPU's will actually be mainstream for the end consumer? Also what socket will it be using? I so want to buy a pc now, but it seems like waiting for Intels new socket would be the better option, rather than buying a mobo that would be useless in a few months as CPU goes...
 
Well as far as i know to upgrade to the new intel's cpu will be costly.

DDR3 memory, new mobo because of the different socket and expensive cpu.
