I cancelled my contract with iBurst in June 2007 and this month (August 2008) I suddenly got a deduction of R339 out of my account - WBS Holdings.

They didn't contact me, they didn't email me....did they really think I wouldn't pick it up?

I know they're on their way out, so for old times sake they're trying to milk everyone that had a direct debit with them before.

What a horrible company! I wish they go bankrupt tomorrow.

Pity it costs so much to hire a lawyer.

kingrob, contact Nedbank* and confirm with them that ibust is using their system to run the debit orders. If you can get confirmation inform them that ibust is using their system to commit fraud. Speak to their head of Compliance if you must.

Nedbank can be held liable for what ibust does with their system.

Please note, I am not saying this is Nedbank or any other banks fault. The fault lies with ibust for using the system in an fraudulent matter.

Don't drop the case even if they do refund you. What they did is illegal and they must pay for it. It is about time they face the music.

*I think they use Nedbank, I could be wrong. If it is not Nedbank contact the rest of the banks. Find out from your bank where that debit order came from, etc...

True +1.
I would also recommend you contact your bank and ask them what active debit orders you've on your account..
Like Pay : Telkom, iBURST, Neotel, Vodacom,MTN,CellC, etc

As of this writing they still are with Nedbank

i hate it when they charge you a extra fee for NOT doing a debit order, i know i'm going off-topic but this debit order K@K is just stupid, i hate it.

iBurst refused to allow me to pay them via EFT or direct deposit.
I threaten and demanded online direct to REMOVE ANY my banking details off their system or I would place a theft claim against their company (they never had a signed debit order authorizing the debit). I guess unfortunate for you, you are dealing directly with the monkies at IBURST... if I was you I would take a drive to their offices and SHOOT the fekers in the accounting department :P (I take no responsible in the actions of people reading this post)...

this is what I think of most of the employees at iburst:

Did you guys really expect an intelligent response from the iburt rep on this forum?????

When I read people on this forum saying to close bank accounts when leaving iBurst I thought they were joking but now I see that they were serious! Unbelievable.

I had a problem with an insurance company which could not remember to cancel my debit order 3 months after I already stopped the policy, and could not get the paperwork in place to refund my during the same period.

It was amazing what a fax did informing them that if the matter was not resolved with the money in my account within 24 hours, it would be considered theft and fraud and criminally reported to the police.

All the excuses used for three months evaporated within 18 hours.

A fax to mr Ex-Big_Boss_of_VC(jnr) telling him that his ass is on its way to jail might just do the trick.
