Getting Acer Laptop fixed in Cape Town?

Hi,

My acer laptop has developed some nasty BSoD erroring which seems to be due to the hard drive being broken.

Is there anywhere in Cape Town I can get this repaired and where would be the best place to get it done.

Phone ACER direct... don't go via Incredible (if you bought it from them) as you will regret that.

I called ACER direct (the numbers should be easy to find) and they helped me very easily.

I also have an Acer, and after taking it to alot of places - i found the BEST place to fix it. The guy went the extra mile, knew what he was talking about, AND, he was like a third cheaper than all the rest. Tell him I reffered you (Nicolette) and that i highly reccommend him. It has to go to Acer in Joburg. The quote is only free if you agree to the work. All parts are mega-expensive.

If it's just the hard drive, buy a new one and install it yourself. Ee Zee Peezy

Thanks for the replies. I'm situated in Claremont at the moment. I don't know exactly what is wrong with it, but my suspicion is the hard drive as I cannot boot up, even into safe mode, without getting BSOD.

My mum got the laptop for me as a present in Malaysia, so I don't think it is under warranty here in South Africa which makes me loathe to try Acer SA.
She also took it to Cafe Java in Claremont who apparently agreed that the problem was with the hard drive, but that they could not fix it (not sure why, although my mum made it sound like the problem was with the fact that it was an Acer)
