Neotel on growth journey

Still not covered in Parow :( Hope they keep their sales portal up to date with coverage information.

So I am going to have to wait forever cause if they only cover 1 km they are going to need thousands to cover even the major centers. *weak*
 
I must admit, it is annoying that they insist that you be in the footprint. But look at the alternative: ibust.

ibust is just too happy to have you hook up to a horribly congested tower then insist that you check your "em tea you".

+1 If they only have 44 base stations, that's maybe 50 sq/kms! This seems pointless, not to mention their base stations are going to ruin the countryside if they ever get that far.

The upload speed will be vastly improved with EVDO Rev A. If you want incoming ports opened just give the help desk a call.
 
Well I must say things are slowly coming right and that is good news although I dont expect coverage here within the next 2 years.

False statement, we all experience problems with international and non of their staff were aware of it. And there support technicians are never aware of anything until users complain and moan about things.

We've been without any international traffic for over 2 hours, and non of their staff can tell me what is happening.Neotel know nothing. What happens if Johannesburg Stock Exchange uses Neotel, and bang they go offline..

Are universities also experience the same problem?
I would like to know.

I'm not even able to get onto their site. The DNS is unable to resolve.
 
So from Cape town to me in Paarl, is gonna be +- 36 stations. And thats in a straight line.

No Neotel for me in the next 15 years! At least they will have a ethernet port by then.

A circuit carrying our international IP traffic was disconnected today at around 12:30, and was only restored shortly after 15:00. Neotel's NOC was aware of this immediately it occurred and acted to get it restored. There was a delay in advising the consumer call centre - something that is now being addressed internally. Customers who contacted the Neotel call centre after this were told of the problem. Please let us know if you feel we should have a more proactive mechanism for advising customers in such cases.

We will shortly be migrating this particular route to multiple, more resilient circuits, and do not expect to experience such problems in future.

Neotel apologises to all customers who were affected by this interruption.

I asked for a line 2 months ago.. still waiting.. the cables were put through my driveway, my pavement spoiled without asking permission from me, "fixed" and now looks like crap. I decided to let it be as I wanted a telephone line but Telkom installed a line first.. so much for Neotel which is.. another Telkom it seems.

Just a couple of thoughts - it's not your pavement, it's the council's. It's the council who gave permission, and probably their sub-contractors that mess it up most of the time anyway. Did you ever speak to Neotel about your driveway?
