Hit my international cap, but I can still access international?

I'm currently with Nexus semi-shaped 5gb option, and I recently hit my international cap. However, for some reason, I can still access international websites.

Not that I'm complaining, of course, but is there a possibility they're going to make me pay for the extra international bandwidth? It is supposed to switch over to local-only automatically.

hey thats what i wanna know too. we are with telkom and have a 3gb cap at the moment we are over 4gb will we be charged for that too?
 
@ AndoBeemer, IS manages their own capping of accounts, so you won't be billed anything extra by Nexus.

IS accounts are fairly relaxed with regard to capping. I have a 2GB account, and on some months I've done 5-10 GB international before being capped. Other months I've been capped right on the nose.

If you get extra, just enjoy it.

@waynegohl, same story as IS.

First tier ISPs can afford to do this.
 
I've noticed this too (IS Semi-shaped through Nexus). Been too worried about being billed for the extra usage, so I normally stop using the account if I am 10% over my (international) cap and it is still working (for international)... Good to know that ISPs 'let it slide'.

No, you wont get charged. U are soft capped. on some months, you can get capped @ 3GB and other around 6GB.

On the IS website when you check usage it shows in MB. Do they count 1024MB = 1 GB or like HDD manufacturers and make 1000MB = 1GB?

huh! surely you jest sire! so i can go on till the 1st then and wont be charged? :eek:
