ANC horrified by Zuma cartoon

Enjoy the laughs while they last. When the ANCYL and co let lose it'll wipe the smiles off people faces

LMFAO!!

Zapiro for president!

Funny the statement was issued on *Friday* the 5th?

The organisations said they had never attacked the judiciary, but criticised unfair treatment of Zuma in a normal public discourse of a democracy.

What the heck do they think "If Zuma goes on trail we will strike, kill, etc..." mean?

Idiots, bunch of idiots.

Zapiro is criticising their criticism of the Judiciary in the normal discourse of democracy.

The ANC and their cronies have always been "horrified" by the truth. They would love to control the media just like Mugabe and co. does in Zimbabwe.

B

And their actions prove that for now this is still somewhat a democracy, but likely to be changed into Communism pretty soon.
I think we are headed either to a system of Communism as per China, or a state of dictatorship like in Zimbabwe. The latter sounds the most likely.

Firstly, it implies, and seeks to reinforce the view, that Jacob Zuma, despite having been found not guilty of the charges against him, is indeed a rapist. It is thus highly defamatory and was clearly intended to poison the minds of the readers against the ANC President and support the campaign to discredit and depose him.

Aaaargh! You bunch of illiterate retards (no, sorry, I demean mentally challenged people with that statement :/); its a f**king metaphor! It is an somewhat know expression to be "raping the system". Political satire cartoons are merely representative and NOT to be taken literally. It is not Melema in the cartoon it is the ANCYL, he is merely representative of the organisation! Geddit?

Jane Duncan of the Freedom of Expression Institute said: “ There is no incitement in this case. It is inferential rather than direct. This may protect Zapiro’s right to freedom of expression rather than Zuma’s right to dignity.”

Shapiro said the blindfolded figure of justice was an allegorical figure going back centuries.

Ex-f**king-actly! But these guys are so uneducated they wouldn't understand. Those who take it literally are going to be offended; its a political cartoon and, as such, not a direct comment on the situation.

"The fact that Jacob Zuma has this personal history is his problem," he said.

Agreed!

"It is time someone drew attention to the shocking behaviour of these political figureheads and their most avid supporters," wrote Thea Beckman.

"We cannot allow a man who believes loyalty to be above the Constitution to take the reins of our country. Well done Zapiro."

Well done people! Hitting the nail on the head!

I think to argue that the cartoon is not shocking and that it wasn't direct is not the way to defend the cartoon. The fact that it is shocking makes it relevant because comments were made by the alliance that made people think that our justice system is slowly being "raped" by Zuma.

The fact that it wasn't direct doesn't make it any less shocking. I am saying treat it for what it represents: not that Jacob Zuma has in the past been accused of rape, not that the Justice System has failed to convict him, not even regarding the high levels of rape in this country; but, rather that these organisations think they are able to dictate what the Justice System should and shouldn't do. That is the metaphor for power hungry autocrats rather than a "direct" reference to sexual crimes.

It is shocking.

It's also very accurate.
