Hey guys,

I recently got the 256K MyWireless package from Sentech. On the first day I had great signal strength (tower 110 - Helderkruin, 21% signal strength - 4 lights on the modem), great connectivity - downloads went at 25k/sec + on international websites. This, however, did not last long and I have been having extremely slow connections like everyone else since Wednesday.

Signal strength remained at 17 - 21% until this afternoon. Was still able to browse but just now my signal dropped completely and had trouble reconnecting. I'm now sitting on 3% signal strength with 1 light showing on the modem... Anyone else on tower 110 experiencing this problem? Are they messing around on the base towers again? [:(!]

I must say that of the 5 days I've had this package, I have had about half a day of 256K Wireless experience... the rest has been like being on 56K dial-up.

http://www.bandwidthplace.com/speedtest returns an error - it runs too slow LOL

Error: Bad key
The test key was not accepted
The speed test results page will only accept results from tests that have a unique key. These keys can only be used once and are given out when a speed test is started. This helps prevent submitting of results that didn't come from a genuine test. This test was not counted.

Possible causes
Using "back" from the results page
Accessing the results page from a favorites link or direct URL entry
The test took too long to complete; each key is only good for a limited time
Solutions
Start tests from the test start page
Select the correct connection type
Make sure you meet the minimum requirements to use this test

Cummon Sentech just say something !

Fantasy is what people want, reality is what they need.

"Enter the Sentech Broadband Zone" Jaco, like the rest of us !

We're waiting to hear next week what the problem has been with connectivity and why so many people are experiencing sub-standard service without explanation for 6 days !

What we "know" :-

1. Tech support are saying to some people "This is what your paying for"
2. "inside info" that there is most definately a problem but for some reason, it's taking a long time to fix.
3. Sentech support is embarassingly bad

My connection went to under 3k and is currently hovering around 5k to 6k, but it's very unstable. For instance, I can't even run a 24kbs radio stream for more than 10 seconds - a week ago, I could easily run a 56kbs radio stream. On a damn 56k modem, I could run a 24kbs stream without interruption.

This is pretty much what we are all experiencing.

If I haven't heard anything as to why this is happening by mid-next week, I'll have no hesitation telling everyone I know to avoid Sentech. I will also be cancelling my contract, after speaking to my bank...

Okay guys,

Just a sitrep to the users using base 110.

I just spoke to Sentech support and they said that there is a definitely a problem with base tower 110 (Helderkruin). The engineers are supposedly looking at the problem as we type [;)]

Amazingly, I have managed to connect on 1% (YES, ONE PERCENT) signal strengh to post here [:D]

Cheers
Jaco

I'm getting really pissed. I'm on tower 110, so despite the SLOW DOWN I also experienced a loss of signal from 46% to 8%. (WATAF?) Why does any problem take more that 5 days to sort out. Dammit, reboot something...

I am connected to 110 Helderkruin at 32%. When I got home this afternoon the modem tried to connect to 66 or 102 cant remember. I just reset the modem and it connected to 110

110 is back up and running!

21% signal, 4 bars [8D]

When I initially phoned, I spoke to Charles - he took my number and said he would call me when the issue had been resolved. 's true 's nuts, the call centre actually phoned me back to tell me that the service is back up!

1 down, 1 more issue to go [:p]

For all the people on 110, remember to reset your modem, mine didn't pick up the signal strength until i reset it.
