Resisdent Evil 4..to buy or not to buy?

It's got no mouse support, terrible keyboard and lower quality FMV sequences = FRUSTRATION. That's what you get when you outsource porting :sick:

Only for the misinformerd.

Resident Evil 4 Pc is definately worth it. But there are three major things you must renember.

Nr.1 The games looks flippen ugly. Even worse than the PS2.

Nr.2 Above can be fixed with the patch. The game looks flippen awsome then but will need a decent computer to run it properly then. Nvidia 6600 and up should do the trick. The patch will propably be on the disc, if not they messed up badly.

Nr.3 The default controlls ar horrid.
Either spend some time tweaking it and download the mouse fix. Which will enable you to aim with the mouse which isn't possible by default or use a gamepad, then everything fine. One thing that's also annoying about using a keyboard is the scenes where you must press a certain combination of buttons quickly.
It shows as Circle, Square, Triangle etc...

So to enable to enjoy the full RE4 Pc experience without all the hassle and crap. Install patch and play with gamepad.
Other than that RE4 is great game and longer than you think.

What does the patch do to make the visuals better?
Does the mouse fix actually work? No mouse support was the reason I didn't get the game in the first place.
 
The patch replaces all the crappy PS2 textures with new high Quality ones. The way it should of been in the first place. Also think it enables AA. I can renember how the fps went down to 15 on my 1.8Ghz athlon Nvidia 6200.

Yes the mouse fix works. Think www.gamecopyworld.com has it on their site.

Yeah best thing to do i download the T&L patch first and then the Hi res texture patch (those gamecube textures does wonders to the pc version)
Plays fine with the xbox 360 controller on pc
 
I played Rez evil 4 on Gamecube! One of the best games I ever played! Most definitely worth it!!
 
I played it on ps2..really good game.I really want it for pc but i dont want to download all the other stuff :(
 
I own RE4 on pc and its a fantastic game.
I own the gamecube version as well and must say that there isnt that much wrong with the pc game[as long as you have a good joypad]
Awesome game and Cash Crusaders seem to have many copies at R30!
