Hi,
Just got my April Telkom bill - I am currently still using a 56K dial-up connection.
I had had to rebuild my PC at the end of May, and was trying to pull down ALL the updates for XP from Microsoft Update - so I connected on Easter Friday for about 9 1/2 hours (and only got a portion of the updates ...) When I looked at my bill, I was charged at premium rates for this call - over R300.00 for one call ...
Anyway, looking at my Bill for April - Public holidays falling on a weekday are NOT considered CallMore time - so they are charged at Premium Rates.
Telkom does not publicize this anywhere I can find - I certainly was aware of it. Talking to customer support got the response 'Thats our policy, so live with it!'
It doesn't make sense - all day Saturday is callmore, but Easter Friday isn't! Nor is Christmas Day!
So beware - Telkom will squeeze every last cent out of you it can!
