THE cost of high-speed internet access is set to be slashed for millions of broadband users.
BT is cutting the fee it charges rival companies for access to its phone lines.
The £2.26 cut is from June 1 — with future reductions promised.
In turn, firms like Tiscali and Wanadoo will be able to offer cheaper deals.
Average broadband costs are currently around £27 to £30 a month.
Tiscali boss Mary Turner said yesterday: “This is very good news, giving consumers a better deal.”
