Told "At least 4 towers off today" ( 20th )

Called Nowire with connection problem

Was told my tower ( 50 Northcliff ) and at least 3 other
johannesburg towers are off for MAJOR repairs whih could take 24 to 48 Hours
[V][V][V][V][V]


( at least old dial up still works )

How do they CONTINOUSLY keep breaking these things? I mean, you install the stuff, fire it up, and forget, right? Unless the hail has damaged something, but there's isn't a helluva lot to BE damaged from the piccy's proasm has shown...

Maybe it has to do with the speed issues people have been having ??

As an agent that fields calls from disappointed customers, I am inclined to agree that this is DAMN RIDICULOUS.

They must leave the damn towers alone!

Well im convinced that they arent doing any bloody repairs on the towers... I think thats just <b></b>another<b></b> side step to give them more time. Surely once you set up a tower, the tower is setup! I dont see Vodacom climbing towers when I cant get my voicemail. It can only be systems thing... unless they have a laptop strapped to the top of each tower! []

Do yourself a favour and go have a look at the complete NodeB setup at the Futurex stand ... WAY too many boxes there ;-) .. I know that's not the setup at EACH tower as the setup there had it's on Radius servers etc BUT .. some of the gear is onsite ...
