SNL - Sarah Palin Debate vs. Joseph Biden (doof-US)

Joe Biden's 14 Lies

Every time Biden scored a point he lied.
Joe Biden's 14 Lies

1. TAX VOTE: Biden said McCain voted “the exact same way” as Obama to increase taxes on Americans earning just $42,000, but McCain DID NOT VOTE THAT WAY.

2. AHMEDINIJAD MEETING: Joe Biden lied when he said that Barack Obama never said that he would sit down unconditionally with Mahmoud Ahmedinijad of Iran. Barack Obama did say specifically, and Joe Biden attacked him for it.

3. OFFSHORE OIL DRILLING: Biden said, “Drill we must.” But Biden has opposed offshore drilling and even compared offshore drilling to “raping” the Outer Continental Shelf.”

4. TROOP FUNDING: Joe Biden lied when he indicated that John McCain and Barack Obama voted the same way against funding the troops in the field. John McCain opposed a bill that included a timeline, that the President of the United States had already said he would veto regardless of it’s passage.

5. OPPOSING CLEAN COAL: Biden says he’s always been for clean coal, but he just told a voter that he is against clean coal and any new coal plants in America and has a record of voting against clean coal and coal in the U.S. Senate.

6. ALERNATIVE ENERGY VOTES: According to FactCheck.org, Biden is exaggerating and overstating John McCain’s record voting for alternative energy when he says he voted against it 23 times.

7. HEALTH INSURANCE: Biden falsely said McCain will raise taxes on people's health insurance coverage -- they get a tax credit to offset any tax hike. Independent fact checkers have confirmed this attack is false

8. OIL TAXES: Biden falsely said Palin supported a windfall profits tax in Alaska -- she reformed the state tax and revenue system, it's not a windfall profits tax.

9. AFGHANISTAN / GEN. MCKIERNAN COMMENTS: Biden said that top military commander in Iraq said the principles of the surge could not be applied to Afghanistan, but the commander of NATO's International Security Assistance Force Gen. David D. McKiernan said that there were principles of the surge strategy, including working with tribes, that could be applied in Afghanistan.

10. REGULATION: Biden falsely said McCain weakened regulation -- he actually called for more regulation on Fannie and Freddie.

11. IRAQ: When Joe Biden lied when he said that John McCain was “dead wrong on Iraq”, because Joe Biden shared the same vote to authorize the war and differed on the surge strategy where they John McCain has been proven right.

12. TAX INCREASES: Biden said Americans earning less than $250,000 wouldn’t see higher taxes, but the Obama-Biden tax plan would raise taxes on individuals making $200,000 or more.

13. BAILOUT: Biden said the economic rescue legislation matches the four principles that Obama laid out, but in reality it doesn’t meet two of the four principles that Obama outlined on Sept. 19, which were that it include an emergency economic stimulus package, and that it be part of “part of a globally coordinated effort with our partners in the G-20.”

14. REAGAN TAX RATES: Biden is wrong in saying that under Obama, Americans won't pay any more in taxes then they did under Reagan.

Start with Lebanon, where Mr. Biden asserted that "When we kicked -- along with France, we kicked Hezbollah out of Lebanon, I said and Barack said, 'Move NATO forces in there. Fill the vacuum, because if you don't know -- if you don't, Hezbollah will control it.' Now what's happened? Hezbollah is a legitimate part of the government in the country immediately to the north of Israel."

The U.S. never kicked Hezbollah out of Lebanon, and no one else has either. Perhaps Mr. Biden meant to say Syria, except that the U.S. also didn't do that. The Lebanese ousted Syria's military in 2005. As for NATO, Messrs. Biden and Obama may have proposed sending alliance troops in, but if they did that was also a fantasy. The U.S. has had all it can handle trying to convince NATO countries to deploy to Afghanistan.

Closer to home, the Delaware blarney stone also invited Americans to join him at "Katie's restaurant" in Wilmington to witness middle-class struggles. Just one problem: Katie's closed in the 1980s. The mistake is more than a memory lapse because it exposes how phony is Mr. Biden's attempt to pose for this campaign as Lunchbucket Joe.

Now if Pahlin had said anything moronic like this there would have been howls from the liberal propaganda MSM. If this is 'experience' then Palin's inexperience must be a good thing. But who cares what he said as long as he looked "mature", "intelliegent" and "articulate"

Oh and so much for it being a walk over as some esteemed forumites predicted :o

Well I was highly impressed, I mean from what I have read, she actually managed to construct a complete sentence - in English!

BTW - did you know that she never saw Russia from Alaska?

McCain came 294 out of 299 students in his military class - he is a dumb hothead, SP is nothing but a book burning, bible bashing air-head.

That's why I urge you to vote for McCain!

Take off those rose tinted glasses m8. Going to a debate and saying screw you to the moderator and her questions is not the sign of a good candidate. Doing so either means that you are A. So bad at debating that you aren't even going to try B. Too arrogant and full of yourself to engage in a debate or C. Too stupid to even attempt answering any questions. Palin basically went to the debate to get some air time and prattle on about the campaign points which she actually managed to memorize (or had managed to write down on her crib notes which she often referred to during the debate).

BTW what did Palin look like during the debate. 'Intelligent', 'mature', 'articulate'... I think not. I hope she keeps on winking and referring to her experience as a hockey mom, married to a 'joe six pack'. (wtf is that btw? Does it mean a guy with a sixpack stomach or a guy who drinks lots of six packs of beer?).

As for Biden being a 'gaff' machine, sure he is, he is old just like McCain is. Would you say all the gaffs McCain has made indicates that he doesn't understand the actual issues or would you call them simple mistakes? As for who I would rather have as a VP; a gaff prone person who understands the issues, or a nonsensical air head who doesn't understand anything. I would choose the gaff prone person.

There's the case of scale too. Biden, who had over 100 interviews in the time Palin had 3, was obviously more likely to have gaffes!

The VP debate hardly qualified as a debate at all really seeing as that Palin all too often just ignored the actual question and rattled off her coached remarks.

Okay so outright lying or being completely clueless( France helped kick Hizbollah out of Lebanon honestly :o) after decades of experience is not worse than dodging the question. The whole point of Biden being VP was to bring his experience particularly on foreign affairs ( the fact he disagrees with Obama on most of the fundamental points aside :rolleyes) and yet he still has no clue.

So Obama gets his advice from Biden on helping the French keep Hizbollah out of Lebanon, social advice from "government infecting blacks with aids" Rev Wright, solving the housing problem from Tony Rezko, domestic terrorists problem advice from Ayers and advice on Muslim sensibilities from Luis "Jews are less than human" Farrakhan. Perhaps also prison reform since two of them have experience in that area too. So Obama has plenty of people to cover for his lack of experience.
