If USB flash drives were cars

Ever baught a USB flash drive and wondered

*bought*

now wheres my cap and shirt? :-)

also, although the flash drives may operate at different speeds, I'm not sure if the author is aware of what "usb2.0" as a spec actually means. It is all-encompassing..and includes usb1.0 and usb1.1 devices, as long as they play nicely.
sure, the usb2.0 part means that the potential to operate at higher speeds is there, but if a device (mouse, keyboard or other low speed device) plays nicely on a usb2.0 bus then it can rightfully wear a usb2.0 sticker.

essentially, the usb2.0 moniker isnt a guarantee of any speed whatsoever, it is a guarantee of compatibility. all that was done was a new higher speed was added to an existing set of specifications, and the new set (which includes the older specifications) was released as usb2.0

100% correct!

You only spotted one. There were plenty and I believe there still is one in there for you to sniff out Mr. Spell Checker. :)

As for USB 2.0 you are completely correct. However the certification is used more as a speed promise than anything else as I said, the assumption would be incorrect.

John, Paul, George or Ringo? Is that another one from the "anals" of history?

Hammer me why don't you. A PM would have done a gentler job, but I will take this like a man. Lash for lash. :D

Thanks for pointing it out and please find the version 2.0 online for your approval right now. Hello there internet, I did indeed write this without my trusted spell checker. Apologies.

I'm sure there are more, but, honestly, the article was so boring that I could only find the spelling mistake on the second word before my eyes glazed over and I started to imagine what it would be like to watch paint dry, online, on youtube, using iburst, capped, while someone riding a unicorn sucks my toes...
erm...sorry, I drifted off again...

The only thing I am grateful for is that by the time I woke up from my slumber I was cleverer.

/mines the one with the pocket sewn into the lining as storage space for my wooden leg.

*mutter* hippie mods making fun of my beetles... They should all be forced to use cheap-assed 1gb verbatim USB drives for the rest of their natural lives...

I'm sorry. I did not mean to hammer you. I did take the trouble to post this though:

There is at least one typo left in v2.0.
