Best priced external 500GB with eSata..?

Hi i am looking at purchasing 500gb external preferably with eSata connection. The only ones i have really seen sre the Seagate freeagent Pro's which go for between R1250-1600. I have also seen this 750gb which goes for about R1550.

Now is the USB connection really that much slower or would it be worth it to get the eSata external instead...?

And anyone else know of any fleeting specials..?
 
There's a transfer of about 30-35MBps with the USB to 90-100MBps with eSATA.... so yes, huge difference.

A friend of mine can get a 1TB (external) for somewhere around R1300. Not sure where, but it's at a local dealer. :eek:
 
Actually now seeing one of >>these<< i might just be swayed to get one instead....i think:confused:

Heard the same from one of my friends maybe twist his arm to get one.
