And, as you probably know, since we began development of the next version of the Windows client operating system we have been referring to it by a codename, "Windows 7." But now is a good time to announce that we've decided to officially call the next version of Windows, "Windows 7."

While I know there have been a few cases at Microsoft when the codename of a product was used for the final release, I am pretty sure that this is a first for Windows. You might wonder about the decision.

Windows 7, well I must admit it makes more sense than XP and Vista

they are such a bunch of spanners..

go back 8 years and ask them why they called it "windows vista". the answer "we didnt want numbers or dates in our software, because it would show the age"..i.e. how many of you would be happy receiving a brand new computer with windows 2001 loaded onto it now? (xp launched round about that time)...? no, call it "windows xp" then people wont be able to tack a date or number sequence onto it.

so, we shall now, by the stroke of the mighty pen, call this next one, windows 7.
Q: who stole the boerewors from my braaipack? A: it wasnt there to begin with.
